At one time, our president told us we had nothing to fear but fear. Now our leaders, puppets to the corporatacracy, tell us we must fear fear–and its many squiggling tentacles. “The War on Terror,” they call it. Just how afraid should we be? Today it’s orange. Tomorrow it might be yellow, but what ever the color, you bet your sweet ass that you better be ever fearful of terror. And if you wanna feel free and secure, hand over your freedoms and security as payment for freedom and security.
America doesn’t run on Dunkin. It runs on fear and debt. Remember when Bush W told us to go out shopping and out to eat to show those big, bad terrorists? Fear and debt will lead to bankruptcy of economy and spirit. The Bible says, “God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” If the opposite of fear is power, love and sound mind –then fear is powerlessness, hate and and unsound mind. The only thing we have to fear is powerlessness, hatred and insanity.
